What People Say
We are delighted that our May 2026 Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) recognised that, “St Giles Church of England Primary School is living up to its foundation as a Church school and is enabling pupils and adults to flourish.”
Pupils and adults are kind, happy and confident… Staff develop highly positive relationships and know pupils extremely well.
SIAMS Report May 2026
This strengthens the recognition received following our last Ofsted visit (October 2024), which confirmed that St Giles has maintained the standards identified at the previous inspection.
Pupils delight in attending this friendly school (and) uphold the school’s value of nurture well... this contributes to a culture where pupils feel part of the school family.
Ofsted Report October 2024
Both reports recognised the tireless work that goes on across the whole school to provide all our pupils with a good standard of education and there were many key strengths. Some areas that make us very proud include:
-
"Strong leadership rooted in a clear Christian vision enables everyone to flourish" SIAMS
- “The school is ambitious for its pupils, and most pupils rise to meet the high expectations set.” Ofsted
-
"A rich, ambitious curriculum shaped by the school’s values and designed to develop each child’s unique gifts." SIAMS
- "Teachers support pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) well.” Ofsted
-
"Pupils actively participate in social action… developing an understanding of justice, equality and helping those in need." SIAMS
- “The school has a keen focus on improving pupils’ reading. Teachers support pupils who fall behind in their reading to catch up quickly. As a result, pupils swiftly learn to read and develop a love of reading.” Ofsted
-
"A deeply caring culture where every child, including the most vulnerable, feels valued and supported." SIAMS
- “Teachers motivate pupils to learn. They ensure what pupils learn is relevant and interesting.” Ofsted
You can read both Ofsted and SIAMS reports in full from the links at the bottom of the page.
The sense of community, the pride and care the students show each other is absolutely second to none, and highly valued.
